Effective management of radioactive waste is paramount for safeguarding public health and the environment. This seminar provides an in-depth exploration of South Korea's regulatory framework in terms of radioactive waste management. Through an examination of key regulatory bodies such as the Nuclear Safety and Security Commission (NSSC) and the Korea Institute of Nuclear Safety (KINS), attendees will gain insight into the roles and responsibilities shaping policy implementation. The presentation will explore the legal framework established by laws such as the Nuclear Safety Act and the Radioactive Waste Management Act, highlighting key provisions and recent updates.
