▶ Title: Automated Reactor Physics Workflows for Fission and Fusion Reactors
▶ Abstract:
Designing a nuclear reactor can be greatly accelerated by development of automated computational workflows that reflect the design goals and the appropriate design constraints. As an inherently iterative and collaborative process, nuclear reactor design projects require agile manifestation and evaluation of designs, with transferable communication to the other teams in the design project. Two design projects, one for a fission research reactor, the High Flux Isotope Reactor, and another for a compact fusion reactor tokamak, are shown as an overview of the design capabilities at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory. Advanced computational tools and streamlined workflows are leveraged to accelerate design optimization for these two projects.
