▶ Title: Cognitive Psychology: The Science of How We Think
Cognitive psychology is an area that focuses on the science of how people think. Cognitive psychology aims to reveal behavioral and neural mechanisms underlying mental processes including perception, attention, language, memory, problem solving, decision making, and reasoning. Understanding human cognitive processing is critical to better understanding the self and others, especially those who have different opinions. In this seminar, a brief overview of cognitive psychology will be provided focused on the decision-making biases that we make in everyday life. In addition, the discussion will be expanded to tap the personal attributes in social issues surrounding the use of nuclear energy.
